meltdowns vs shutdowns — how do yours announce themselves?

trying to map my early-warning signs because by the time I know, it's too late to leave the situation. so far: jaw clenching, words getting shorter, and a specific feeling like the room's audio got "compressed". then it's either the volcano or the power cut, depending on the day.
what are yours? asking because comparing notes seems more useful than any worksheet I've been given

mine: I start narrating tasks out loud ("okay. bag. keys.") — apparently my brain switches to manual control before I consciously notice anything. partner knows that voice now and starts quietly turning things off. shutdowns only, I go non-verbal for a few hours after. it's not sad, it's a reboot screen

the audio compression thing is REAL, I thought that was just me. mine is losing the ability to decide between two identical options. if I'm stuck picking a mug, the next hour is already lost — best find a dark room
