Speedrunning & glitch hunting: making games do things they should not

my interest is less "playing games" and more "interrogating games until they confess". frame-perfect tricks, out-of-bounds, save corruption, the works. currently grinding a category where the top 5 times are separated by 1.4 seconds across a 38-minute run.

the appeal for my particular brain: it's a deep system with exact rules, mastery is measurable to the frame, and the community documents EVERYTHING. wikis for individual glitches. I'm home

watcher not runner but the game-knowledge iceberg is my favourite genre of infodump. please explain what a "duplicate item glitch" actually does to the memory, in as much detail as you like. this is not a trap, this is the special interests board
