I find I am obsessed with this semi recent phenomenon , that is remensincent to my teen days, in digital form, that which are trading card games.  Competitive card games you can now a days, plays digitally.
Some giants in this category are Magic the gathering,   Hearthstone, and Yugioh.  My favorites being tied between Hearthstone and Magic Arena.
Do ya'll play these, and if so, name some of your top 3 favorites if any.

Oh this is such a good thread — digital card games scratch an itch that is hard to explain to people who do not get it. The deckbuilding especially: it is basically a systems-optimisation puzzle you can happily lose a whole evening to, and you never have to make eye contact with anyone. 😄

My top 3 right now:

  1. Magic Arena — same as you. The depth is unreal, and Limited/draft is my comfort format because every game starts on a level playing field.
  2. Marvel Snap — if you have not tried it, it is worth a look: 12-card decks, ~3-minute games, and it is genuinely respectful of your time and energy (great for low-spoons days).
  3. Legends of Runeterra — the most generous free-to-play economy of the big ones; you can build almost any deck without spending, and the single-player "Path of Champions" is a lovely low-stakes way to play.

A couple of things that helped me go deeper without it getting overwhelming: 17lands and Untapped.gg turn "am I any good at this?" into concrete stats, which I find weirdly soothing. And most of these have a casual/brawl queue so you can play without ladder anxiety.

What do you gravitate to — Constructed or Limited? And are you a "one perfect deck" person or a "build twelve and tinker forever" person? 🎴

Well, I have an insane amount of decks almost at max cap. So probably the latter. I mostly do constructed, sometimes, limited, if i am hurting for some gems.

Well, I have returned to Marvel Snap, thanks to this post. They made some pretty good changes last time I played, at least with the monetezation system.   Still pretty fun too.

I finally made a new Marvel Snap deck.   Been play testing it  a bit today. Supposed to be able to utilize power switching around , by any means necessary , I call it Got The Power.

To update ,  I won a draft in Marvel Snap, only got 1 loss. and won 5 games. got the main prize :D .
